My name is Paul Wee and I have been in various aspects of the financial industry for more than 20 years.
I graduated with a Diploma in Accounting from the Ngee Ann Polytechnic in 1988 and began my career in audit, working in the biggest local audit firm. While I had audited a myriad of industries, I ultimately focused on the financial industry, taking the lead in auditing listed stockbroking firms over a few years. On top of the financial audits, I was also well versed in regulatory aspect of the audits.
In 1992, I enrolled myself in the National University of Singapore in the Bachelor of Business Administration, focusing on the area of Finance, and graduated in 1995, when I became an Equity Analyst for a few years, before joining the Insurance industry, and ultimately Banking in 1999, selling and advising Financial Wealth products in a major foreign bank.
While working in the insurance and wealth management fields, I have had the opportunity to be exposed to the intimate financial details of my clients, and I have learned much. This exposure allowed me to learn from the best, and also to understand the financial mistakes made by many in their financial management.
In 2004, having learnt how to structure and sell mortgage loans for a couple of years, I made the switch and moved into the Mortgage Sales function in another major bank. There, I was promoted to the role of Mortgage Team Head in October 2006, and ultimately to Senior Vice President of Mortgage Sales and Retention in the same bank in May 2007.
In July 2010, I left to join another foreign bank in Singapore, to establish and build a new Mortgage business.
I finally left Banking in January 2014, having built a very successful business, despite running a relatively small sales team.
It was time to strike out on my own and return to my first love; helping others using the knowledge and experience that I have accumulated through my years in auditing, equity research, insurance planning and mortgage.
